Silvio Simoes

Silvio has extensive experience in geospatial analysis applied to natural disaster, environmental issues, water resources, and energy. He was one of the responsible for creating the Graduate Program in Natural Disasters (Master/Doctor levels), a partnership between UNESP and Cemaden (National Center for Early Warning and Monitoring for Natural Disasters), the first doctorate program on this subject in Latin America.
He has large experience as a consultant including companies such as: Petrobras/Transpetro, Suzano, EDP, and Toyota Motor Foundation.
Silvio Simoes completed his PhD in Geography at the Sao Paulo University (USP) and a pos-doc at Harvard University (focus : water resources and climate variability).
